Reaching new milestones!

Kaitlyn cut her first tooth back in November, but it was hard to capture a good photo of it until around Christmastime. She cut her bottom two front teeth first, and then her top teeth. She had a rough time dealing with the discomfort. But, eventually her pearly whites came forth!

We began trying Kaitlyn on some finger foods in mid-January; after a few months of purees (plus aggravated gums from teething), she was ready for something new. We started giving her rice puffs in December. By January she was onto steamed carrots and baked sweet potatoes.

She was not a huge fan of the carrots:

But she LOVED the sweet potato!

Feeding a baby is a messy ordeal; but she is still a cutie even covered in food!

And of course her Papa couldn't wait to let her try a french fry-she loved Red Robin's fries!

By mid-January she could hold herself at sitting position, if we placed her there (no sitting up by herself just yet).

Kaitlyn is a big lover of books. Sometimes we read to her over and over again; she loves to look at both the pictures and the large text on her board books. Hopefully that love will continue.

Kaitlyn is beginning to notice animals; she has been watching the birds when they fly into our yard. Here she has a close encounter with her great-grandparents' cat, Sasha.

Kaitlyn's personality is really showing now; she's quite a character! She likes to giggle and squeal, and have silly time with her family.

Being silly with Daddy

Goofing off with Uncle Mark

By the end of January, we started her on a sippy cup during meals. Just a tiny bit of water inside to get her used to the concept. She actually did really well, after chewing on it awhile she did figure out how to tip it up and drink from it. She gets a little overzealous sometimes though, and water ends up everywhere.

We put her Pack n Play in the living room so she could have safe place to play while Mommy takes a potty break now and then. Of course this lead to more silliness:

7 months come and gone....next, more fun in February!
