3 months and counting...

Kaitlyn is already 3 months old!

She's changing more and more each day. She's discovering new things and getting stronger.

She loves TV...it's hard to keep her from looking so Mom and Dad will have to monitor what they watch around her. Here she is watching a program with Dad:

Kaitlyn got another visit from Grammy and Grandpa Joe. She had a great time with them both, and hopes to see them again soon.

Kaitlyn has discovered her hands and spends alot of time with them in her mouth. Actually, she likes to gnaw on many things: her hands, toys, burpcloths, other people's hands, Mommy's hair...

She also discovered her feet and so she likes to grab them while hanging out on her playmat.

Kaitlyn has also begun to vocalize even more. She's squealing and making different noises. There are times when it seems like we have a Siamese cat in the house instead of a little girl. It's still lovely to hear though.

She also giggles if we can get it out of her. Usually a little tickling or making really silly faces will invoke a giggle or two.

Kaitlyn loves having visitors. Her most frequent visits are with her grandparents, which she absolutely loves!

Having a nap on a comfy shoulder is a favorite too.

She'll be 4 months old in just a few weeks. She's really growing up, losing that newborn look and becoming more of a baby. There are times when she looks deep in thought, and has a very grown up look about her. But she always returns to that cute little baby smile.

2 months old!

Kaitlyn is two months old!

She's now 9lbs 4 oz, and 22.5 inches. She's growing well! She's still a petite little girl.

She also had to get several vaccines at her checkup, which put her under the weather for a few days but now she is back to normal.

Earlier this month, Kaitlyn had a visit from her Uncle Mark. She had a great time playing with (and napping on) her uncle, and can't wait to see him again soon!

Kaitlyn spends much time outdoors, going on walks with her mom and dad. One place she enjoys visiting is the local botanical gardens.
Here she's posing (or rather, snoozing) with her Daddy.

Every day Kaitlyn is amazing us with the new things she is learning and discovering. She's not the biggest fan of tummy time, but is tolerating it longer each day.

She's also learned a new trick when she's had enough:

She can roll from tummy to back!

Kaitlyn wants to be on the move so badly; she gets frustrated when on her tummy that kicking her legs takes her nowhere. She still has many months before time for crawling, but when she does we'll really have our hands full!

7 weeks!

Kaitlyn has been having so much fun these past 7 weeks!

Grandma and Grandpa Joe came to visit in July. Kaitlyn enjoyed playing with them both and can't wait to see them again soon!

Kaitlyn enjoys her time outdoors. We go on many walks with her; she usually takes the opportunity to nap!

Kaitlyn gets to spend alot of time with her Grandmama and Papa too...

She likes having an up high view to see the world! So she spends alot of time on shoulders.

Bathtime is getting easier. At first Kaitlyn hated them, but now we have a cute little plastic incline chair for her to lay in while we wash her. She still hates having her hair washed, but it will only be a matter of time before she'll love baths so much we'll have to holler at her to get out!

After her bath, she's squeaky clean and in a much better mood!

And of course after toweling off, she's in her PJ's and hanging out with Mom and Dad on the bed.
She loves looking at the ceiling fan and listening to Mom and Dad talk to her!

She'll be two months in a week! Can't believe how much she's growing and changing!

Little Socialite

Kaitlyn is now almost a month old, and has had a few chances to get out and visit with family.

She's also had her share of visitors at the house.

Her Papa and YiaYia come by almost every day to get their Kaitlyn fix:

Her great-grandmother (Christal's Granny) came by to hold her. They color coordinated that day!

She's also had a visit with her Great-Aunt Connie.
Kaitlyn got a chance to get out of the house and visit her YiaYia and Papa's house. Her Aunt Heather and Uncle Mark came into town for a family weekend. She had quite a good time!

Her Uncle Mark spent alot of time holding her. She was comfy hanging out with him!

She got to meet her Aunt Heather, who came to visit from Hawaii. Here they are discussing important matters.

Her Great-Aunt Anita also got a chance to catch up with Kaitlyn.
Kaitlyn took her first (short) trip out into the Botanical Gardens for some fresh air.

Her Papa strolled her around the rose garden!

She also enjoyed lunch at the Garden's cafe with her YiaYia and Aunt Heather.
Next week she will already be a month old! Can't believe how fast time is moving!

Doctor visit and life at home........

Kaitlyn went in for a weight check this week. She's now at 6lbs 8 oz, one ounce under birth weight. She had left the hospital at 6lbs 2oz, so the doc was happy with her progress. She's a healthy (and hungry) baby!

She has adjusted well to life at our home. When she isn't sleeping or eating or being changed, she prefers snuggling.

Between the two of us and the visitors we've had, she's gotten alot of snuggling in!

Here she is snuggling with her Papa:

She's still a little wary of the bouncy. Some days she loves it, others she is over it in a few minutes. Once she's a bit bigger she won't slide so far down, and should enjoy it more.

We also tried out the boppy; she seemed okay for a little bit. Again, she's so tiny!

One Week Old!

Kaitlyn is a week old as of yesterday. It's been an interesting week too. We had to learn that Kaitlyn comes with her own schedule, and it isn't always predictable. Mommy and Daddy are learning fast though!

She likes to nap often in her car seat. Here she is having an afternoon siesta:

She enjoys her chats with us. We sit and talk and sing silly songs (Mommy is working on her vocal skills!)

Daddy gets his quality time with Kaitlyn too. She loves to eat! Here Daddy is giving her a bottle; if you look carefully you can see she has her pinky extended. Such a lady!

After a few attempts, Kaitlyn is finally enjoying her bouncy chair. She likes to look around the living room; she has even taken a quick nap in it!
What a week! Time has been flying by. Every day we get to experience new things with our little girl. She's eating well, getting better sleep. She can even lift her head for a few seconds on her own! It's amazing what a wonderful girl she already is in her short time here with us!

She's finally here!

On June 14th, 2010 at 4:19PM Kaitlyn Alyssa entered the world!

She was 6lbs 9 oz, and 19.3 inches long.

She recognized her Daddy immediately, and spent time watching him intently.
Kaitlyn was cleared to come home on Wednesday afternoon. She enjoyed her car ride home so much that she stayed passed out in her carseat for quite awhile.

Her bouncy seat is another favorite place to hang out and take in the sights of her new home.It took a few nights to get used to sleeping in her bassinet, but now she seems to do well napping in it.
Mommy and Daddy are so happy to have her in our home. We're still figuring each other out, but every day Kaitlyn has taught us new things. It's going to be quite a journey ahead!

Making Room For Baby....

With only a month to go until our little girl arrives, we've got her room together!

The butterflies on the wall are wood cutouts Christal painted. The crib is convertible so one day she can use it as a full-size bed.

The dresser used to be in her Aunt Heather's room. It looks great in the nursery!

The rocking chair belonged to Joe when he was a kid. Winnie the Pooh can't wait to meet her!

Little girl has her own bouncer!

Her car seat....have to actually put this in the SUV soon!

We've decided on a name for our baby girl: Kaitlyn Alyssa! We can't wait for her to be here.
