Pumpkin picking and Halloween!

Obviously we are a little behind on our blog. So, in an attempt to catch up a little, we'll go back to October for pumpkin picking and Halloween photos!

It was a pretty warm day when we headed out to the pumpkin patch. We went to the same patch we picked from last year, Brookdale Farms.

At first Kaitlyn was more interested in running through the patch than actually looking at the pumpkins.

We finally got her to start checking out pumpkins. Before long, we had picked out our three pumpkins!

Grandma and Papa came along too!

Kaitlyn helped keep the pumpkins in the wheelbarrow!

After purchasing our pumpkins, we loaded them into the car and then went back for the hayride! This was really cool; two horses pulled the wagon around the farm. Kaitlyn really had a good time!

A few days before Halloween, Mommy had Kaitlyn try on her costume and take a few photos! This year she was a cute little bumblebee.

She didn't really want to keep her antennae on though.  They were more fun to bend than to wear!

Mommy ad Daddy carved their pumpkins a few nights before Halloween. Kaitlyn's pumpkin was a bit small so we decided to let her put stickers on it instead. The pumpkins came out very nice!

On the porch for trick-or-treat!

Halloween was pretty much a bust for us. Kaitlyn ended up scratching her eye sometime that day (she had been sick that weekend before so was rubbing her eyes a lot). We were at the pediatrician's office right before trick-or-treat time. By the time we got home, most of the kids in the neighborhood had passed us by so we only had 3 kids come to the door. Kaitlyn wasn't in much of a dress-up mood but we did get her costume on. Maybe next year she will get to go out and trick-or-treat like a big kid!

We did let her try a Kit-Kat bar. She seems to be more into white chocolate than milk chocolate.

We put her in her Halloween jammies for bedtime, and Mommy snapped this photo early the next morning:

With Halloween over, the next big holiday is Thanksgiving! This year we trekked down to see Grammy and Grandpa Joe in North Carolina. It was Kaitlyn's first road trip! More on the next post!
